Dev Anand


Dharam Dev Pishorimal Anand, popularly known as Dev Anand was born on September 26, 1923. He is a legendary actor and producer of Bollywood film. He was considered as the urban gentleman in his heyday. In 1946, he made his first debut as an actor in the film ‘Hum Ek Hain’ by Prabhat Talkies.
Dev met Guru Dutt while shooting for a film in Pune. Soon they became good friends and started making a pact. If Dev produced a film, Dutt would direct it and if Dutt produced a film, Dev would act in it. In 2001, Dev was conferred with Padma Bhushan and in 2002 he received the highest awards for cinematic excellence, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
