Being an agricultural country, India claims many firsts when it comes to the production of crops. Even though the country is second in agricultural output in the world, there are many crops like milk, cashew nuts, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, tea, coconuts, etc where the nation leads in the production.
Other crops like wheat, rice, sugar, groundnut, fish etc find the nation to be only second in production in the whole world. The highest production of banana and sapota is done in India. Also, of the total production of fruits in the world, around 10 percent is done in India itself.
