Buland Darwaza |

Buland Darwaza is a monument that is built in Fatehpur Sikri which is around 43 km away from Agra. This magnificent monument was built by Akbar in 1602 to celebrate his invasion of Gujarat.

The whole monument is built of red sandstone and white marble. It is also known as the ‘Gate of Magnificence’. Buland Darwaza is the highest gateway in the world and is an amazing example of the Mughal architecture. The monument is 53.63 meters in height and has a width of 35 meters. The Buland Darwaza is semi octagonal in plan and is topped by pillars and chhatris.
The architecture of the monument is influenced by the Persian style. |
