| The Buddhist monuments at Sanchi are located 46 km northeast of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the oldest Buddhist santury in existence and was a major Buddhist hub until 12th century A.D. in India. It is a Buddhist pilgrimage centre that exhibits several complex structures of the popular Buddhist legends. The site comprises of monolithic pillars, palaces, temples and monasteries.
