The major gulfs of India include Gulf of Kutch, the Gulf of Cambay and the Gulf of Mannar. The strait that separates India from Sri Lanka is the Palk Strait and the channel that separates the Andaman's from the Nicobar Islands is the Ten Degree Channel.
The Cape Comorin, Indira Point, Rama's Bridge and Point Calimere are the important capes of India. The Arabian Sea is to the west, Bay of Bengal to the eastern side and the India Ocean is to the South of India. The Laccadive Sea and the Andaman Sea are smaller seas. The important lakes of India include Chilka Lake, Kolleru Lake, Loktak Lake, Dal Lake, Sambhar Lake and the Sasthamkotta Lake. |
