Birla Temple Delhi
One of the most famous temples for Vaishnavites in India, the Birla temple or the Laxminarayan temple in Delhi is built in the honour of Hindu goddess of wealth, Laxmi and her consort, Lord Vishnu who is the preserver of the Hindu Trinity. The temple has many shrines, fountains and a large garden in the temple complex.
The temple is visited by thousands of devotees who throng the place on the birthday of Lord Krishna that is on Janamashtmi. Vir Singh Deo built the temple in 1622. Prithvi Singh renovated in 1793 and since 1938, the funds and supports have been coming in from the Birla family. The temple has an architectural style of northern India and enchants visitors who come to visit the place.
