Bela Flower

The Arabian Jasmine is native to India and is popularly known as Bela. It is an evergreen shrub that may reach 5 ft in height in pots. The most attractive aspect of this plant is its white, small, star shaped flowers that are fragrant and have a wonderful sweet scent. The Bela flowers are used as a flavour in tea and in making perfumes. This woody shrub features oval shape green leaves.
The ever-blooming Jasmine has bushy growth and grows particularly well on windowsills. In Asia, it is well known for its use in religious observances. It is the national flower of Philippines. There it is known as 'Sampaguita'.
