Basu Bhattacharya was a famous director of Hindi cinema. He was born in 1934 into a Brahmin family in West Bengal. He started his film career in 1958 as an assistant to Bimal Roy. He was acclaimed with President’s Silver Medal for Teesri Kasam, which was his first independent directorial debut, released in 1966. Later, this was followed by ‘Anubhav’, ‘Avishkaar’, ‘Grihapravesh’ and a comedy ‘Tumahara Kallo’. |
