|Bana Bhatta is known as one of the most notable Sanskrit Prose-writer of the 7th century. The court of Harshavardhana was adorned by him and had a good relationship with the royal family. He won many favours from the Emperor Harshavardhana and eventually wrote Harshacharita, which had noticeable autobiographical elements and was the story of his supporters.
The most important and cherished work of Bana Bhatta is ‘Kadambari’. It is one of the most remarkable books in the history of Indian literature and is a celebrated prose romance. He died before being able to complete Kadambari. Later his son, Bushana Bhatta concluded it.
