B.R.Chopra
Baldev Raj Chopra is an Indian director as well as producer of Bollywood movies and TV serials. In 1955, he set up his own production house, B. R Films. ‘Naya Daur’ was the first movie to be produced for this production house. He was involved in developing the career of singer Mahendra Kapoor.
Chopra ventured into television with Mahabharat, which was one of the most successful television serial in the history of Indian television. He has received several awards and acclaims including the Filmfare Best Director Award for the movie, Kanoon (1960), Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1998), Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award (2003) and the Phalke Ratna Award by the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy (2008).
