Anjali Bhagwat has emerged as a star shooter and has inspired a horde of young women to take up this spot that is traditionally considered the fiefdom of men. She first came in touch with shooting as a cadet in the National Cadet Corps (NCC). She earned her maiden national title in 1990. |

Anjali competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and became the second Indian woman to reach an Olympic final and ended a creditable seventh. She grabbed four gold medals at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. She was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for her excellent achievements. |
