Alisha Chinai

Alisha Chinai was born in 1972. She is a leading pop singer and is credited for introducing the trend of pop music in India. Bappi Lahiri, the music director and composer was the one to discover her. Later, they did several disco hits together in the films of 1980s. In 1985, she sang in the album ‘Old Goan Gold’ with Remo Fernandes and it became very popular.
Alisha started working with different music directors in the 90s. Simultaneously, with playback singing, she also recorded many private albums. One of her notable hit single album is ‘Made in India’. She won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award in 2005 for the song ‘Kajra re’ in the film Bunty Aur Bubli.
