General Publications |
Ever since its inception, IASLIC is publishing monographs and other types of documents. The Association in its continuing education programmes conducts short term courses, workshops, round tables, seminars etc. and the Education Division the association edits and brings out publications as a follow-up programme at times. |
Documentation, Documentary Reproduction & Translation Services |
The IASLIC undertakes compilation of bibliographies and English translation of documents from Russian, German, French, Chinese, Japanese, etc. and also undertakes imaging of documents for archiving. All these services are provided on non-profit basis. |
Library consultancy Service |
The Association undertakes consultancy services like creation of computerized bibliographic databases, retrospective conversion of records, preservation & conservation of documents cataloguing, classification and stock verification in public and private organizations on non-profit basis. |
Education |
Organising short-term training courses in various topics is now a regular feature of the continuing education programme to improve professional competency. These courses are usually held in collaboration with University departments, specialized institutions, national library of India and other professional bodies etc. at different parts of India. |

With the growing size of IASLIC membership, it became imperative for the IASLIC Council to create the following Special Interest Groups(SIG) to bring together persons of common interests. Seminars & Conferences |
The IASLIC holds a biennial seminar and a conference in alternate years. Current problems of libraries and information services and other allied areas are selected as themes for discussion on these occasions. 20 Seminars and 24 Conferences had taken place at different research and academic institutions in various parts of the country up to 2003. |
Study Circles |
From the headquarters as well as from some State branches, the IASLIC conducts study circle meetings for discussion on various issues of interest concerning LIS. Such meetings are held at different places and occasionally in collaboration with other fraternal bodies, inviting experts and specialists from different fields. |
Ranganathan Memorial Lecture |
This lecture series was started since 1993 and delivered on any topics of Library, Information and Communication science by leading personalities of the profession. The first lecture was delivered by Prof. A. Neelameghan. |
Annual Special Lecture |
This lecture series was introduced in 1987. Eminent personalities from various professions were invited to deliver lectures on topics having common interest to library profession. Vice Chancellors, Chief Justice, Directors of prestigious research institutes, Media personalities had delivered lectures. |
Librarian’s Day Celebration |
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, IASLIC in collaboration with other sister organizations observe Librarian’s Day every year in the month of August. On this occasion day long seminar/ panel discussion used to organize. |
