Aaloo Mutter

Aloo Mutter is the most commonly served Indian recipe in dinner. This is one of the famous dishes from Punjab. This dish is rich in texture and taste. It makes a good accompaniment with chapattis as well as with rice.

The ingredients required are 4 Potatoes, 1 Cup green peas, 1 chopped onion, 2 tomatoes pureed, 2 Green chilies chopped, tsp Red chili powder, tsp turmeric powder, tsp coriander powder, cooking oil, salt to taste, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and coriander leaves.

First of all, heat the oil and fry chopped onion and ginger garlic paste until the mixture turns translucent. Then add tomato, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt and green chilies. Fry it till oil is absorbed. Then add potatoes and green peas and mix them well. Fry it for 5 minutes. Now add 2 cups water and cover it. Cook it till water is partly absorbed and peas and potato are done. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves. Serve it with chapattis.
